OUR STORY SO FAR
From a sustainable fashion label, to a social enterprise, we continue to develop with the needs of the communities we work with.
Worn Reborn started out in 2006 as a sustainable fashion label using repurposed textiles and second hand treasures to create unique, bold and graphic clothing. In 2016, our founder Sarah Jackson was awarded a start up grant and place on the highly competitive School for Social Entrepreneurs training programme. From May 2016, with the help of our funders and sponsors, we launched Worn Reborn as a community interest company.
We are currently developing a range of ethical, yoga inspired clothing and accessories to reflect and promote our holistic wellbeing ethos, Reborn Yoga. Profits from sales fund the projects and programmes we deliver with young people from disadvantaged communities.
Our social aims are to:
empower young people from disadvantaged communities through creativity, design and entrepreneurship.
support and teach transferable life skills to build resilience, independence and self esteem.
reduce textile landfill waste by using reclaimed and repurposed textiles.
increase holistic wellbeing and support for young people
As a new organisation we are still growing and developing to meet the needs of the communities and organisations we work with. It has been just over a year since we constituted Worn Reborn CIC and during that we are proud to have worked alongside other organisations including: Re-considered, Hebden Bridge Arts Festival, Into the Wild Festival, Artsmill, Ladyfest Manchester, The Egg Factory and The Orange Box. We look forward to continuing our commitment to supporting positive mental health, social and environmental change in the future.
